The Zacarías Guerra Home is a Christian social institution that, under the direction of the Order of Capuchin Monks (Amigonianos), welcomes in a home-type boarding school children of all ages who have been abandoned, orphaned or otherwise mistreated. The Home offers a loving family environment with education in all aspects of life from academic to sports, nutrition, health, music and arts.

History

The Home originated in 1914 when Dr. Jose Zacarias Guerra died and left an inheritance for the establishment for a home for orphaned children of Nicaragua.

Purpose

The primary purpose of the Zacarías Guerra Home is the safety and health of the children along with development of the personality of the student. This development can be outlined as:

1. Activation of the forces of I.
2. Personality development.
3. Conduct modification.
4. Personal, family and social readjustment.
